With a snort, Nao laughed. "Mom never told us about that. That story definitely needs to be recorded for the future."

Nao's smile turned into a wide grin. "His stories in particular can be very entertaining."

"Agreed." Nao smiled. "To hear story from before our time would be invaluable, so that we may keep it and pass on."

"I'm sure there are." Nao agreed. "But, fog can be mischievous in itself. Kind of like shadows. We see things hiding in them. Or, we may see only what we put there are selves."

She chewed at her lip as she considered his request. "There was a man who lived before the Kami fell." she finally said. "I do not remember his name, but he had once been of the tribe of Isawa. He had left when he was young, to explore the lands beyond the Isawa's and to learn about the other tribes...

"I was trying to fill in the blanks." she explained. "There were details I couldn't remember. I thought I could just add some of my own."

"Yes." she nodded. "But, I don't usually fall asleep so easily. Mom would send me to bed and I'd spend half the night thinking about a story dad told me."

Her eyes opened quickly. "Don't you dare.""

""But... thank you for waking me. I can't believe we fell asleep." She slowly sat up.

"Air and Water, suspended above Earth, without Fire." Nao said. "It's like a cloud, Satsuki-chan. Like we're flying."

"Just a little longer...." she mumbled.

Her hand stopped moving, resting on top of San's sleeping form, and her body lay still.
