From all that, I deduce Chouri is Snake, that she is coiled around the village to shield it from bad things from outside, but getting really weary from five years of constant assaults. The mist is actually her true body, if we could see from high up in the sky the shape of it would become obvious.Togashi Satsuki wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 3:29 am
- Blue Lotus Village was built up about five years ago, after being previously occupied by heterodox Isawa. The village utilises a purification ritual left behind by these Isawa. This story has not been verified by any experts on the subject matter.
- Blue Lotus Village is, as far as we know and the kami know, in Ningen-do still (this rules out that we are in fact within the domain of Yume-Jigoku).
- The village is surrounded by a mist that will mislead anyone trying to pass through it. This seems to go both ways, as it is mostly preventing the enemy from coming through it.
- The village appears to be cut-off from other realms as well, with the exception of Yume-do/Y-J. Attempts to open portals to other realms or project one's spirit into another realm has failed (with the noted exception of Yume-do/Y-J). We don't know yet if this applies both ways, allowing spirits from other realms to come in to the village that way.
- Something is also keeping the kami here, and seemingly subdued in a way, as multiple shugenja have accounted for the kami's unusual nature to rouse to a shugenja's call. The kami are also unable to leave the village - this means that magical means of communication to outside settlements and allies have been cut off.
- We don't yet know the source of the mist or its purpose.
- When the kami were inquired about the inaccessible shrine and which Kami is enshrined there, their answer was "Many" and "None". This doesn't describe any potential benign Fortunes or spirits. It's a possibility that the place has become desecrated and whatever Fortune was worshipped has departed.
- The earth kami say that corruption lurks outside.

Yeah, I figure this is probably about the level we're at with the tools that can exist right now. Maybe some pose-able hinges.Akodo Kenji wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 5:49 pmYou could probably make some sort of carved wooden arm I imagine.
But it would likely just sit there looking pretty.
One wonders if a Dreamstone Hand will be/come an option...Otaku wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 8:46 pmYeah, I figure this is probably about the level we're at with the tools that can exist right now. Maybe some pose-able hinges.
If you want a prosthetic that actually moves on its own in L5R, you need to convince some divine beings to give you the Jade (or Obsidian) Hand...
That's how you know the performance was a good one, folks!Yuzuru Hoto-Hori wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 6:19 pmI've read it. I feel this needs the savaging extending up to the knees.
