The Day of Thunder

The shrine grounds are shrouded in darkness. The only illumination are the lanterns, which create pools of sickly yellowish light among the dense darkness and unsettling flickering shadows.

As one head up the hill along the path to the shrine, the world seems to darken even more than what the fog creates in the rest of the village. Here it is always night, and promises to only grow darker as one climbs the steps.

It feels colder here than the rest of the village, and as in the forest, those who go here can hear eerie whispering... or is in the breeze among the trees not far away, where the forest leans in oppressively?

It's chilly, foggy, and poorly insulated, but it's home, at least for now.

The river is really more of a stream, the sound of its flowing water echoing through the forest. The villagers get their water through wells and urge visitors not to drink from the river. Those who do are said to lose their memories.

Like most of the village, fog clings to the farmland of the village, making it difficult to see far even during the day.

The bath house is surprisingly large and beautiful for the town, with both indoor and outdoor mixed bathing areas. The heat is a little higher than usual, so it can occasionally be a challenge for someone not used to it.

The houses of the villagers are simple, but it's better than camping if one convinces them to host.
