He trotted along beside him to investigate the phenomenon.

He sticks out his tongue and pokes back. "You always ruin my fun."

At the question, he looks thoughtful. "It smells weird. And something feels... hmm... melty. I've been sleeping okay, though."

Akito pops out from behind a tree. "Why did you turn around over there? I was tempted to pounce."

"It was enough." she smiled. "The girl survived. But, that's a different story."

He nodded, all smiles. "I'd like to hear it if you have time later in the week."

He shrugged. "Yeah, that's true. I think the gift of a chance under circumstances as dire as that is all the more precious. He did everything he could, and that's all anyone can do."

"Wow... That's really tragic," he said quietly. "But... at the same time, one person was saved."

"So what happened?" He asked, apparently rapt with attention.

"Would you be willing to tell me one of your stories, Ryoshun-san?"

"That does sounds unusual, then," he said, sitting down on the bench. "I want to take little naps all the time, but apparently it's weird when you do that wherever. That's what Genji says, anyway."

"What were you thinking about about the stories?"

Akito broke into a grin. "There you go! I thought that might do it."

He stood up... and up... fully and looked around. "I don't blame you. It's a sleepy sort of place, don't you think?"

He waves back. "Good afternoon!"

"Well, we haven't seen any craziness for a while, right?" Akito observed. "Everything seems... really normal around here."

"You have to crouch low and move carefully, or your prey will spot you," Akito said with absolute confidence. "Then hit them before they know what's happening. You gotta be careful, 'cause eyes are drawn to movement."
