Protect the Villagers! [D7, MM and LM, Event Master Post]

Most of the villagers, under yesterday’s guidance from Chouri, are lending their will to Doji, empowering her and the Transcendants in their effort to separate Yume-Jigoku from Yume-do. However, the Harbinger isn’t remaining idle as they do so. Some of the effigies, just unsettling humanoid shadows with strange limbs that bend the wrong way and a shuffling gait, are heading into the streets where the villagers live. They’re weak, but they’re numerous. The villagers themselves are completely focused on their ritual and gathered in multiple families in the sturdier homes in the village against the storm, completely focused on their ritual – they won’t be able to both defend themselves and help Doji.
Rules: During the Mid-Morning and Late Morning time slots, the effigies will be in the village streets. You make make an attack roll at TN 20 or a spellcasting roll with a damaging spell, in MM and/or LM in the village streets, with each successful roll representing destruction of an effigy, the end of a longer fight. You may make multiple threads in the streets during MM and LM to illustrate fighting in different areas. You may make a thread in this event in both time slots if you wish. Any techniques and advantages that would affect a spell or an attack roll apply. One spell may be used before the attack or the damage spell.
Failing results in the villagers in the place you're protecting getting killed, reducing the Doji Rescue Percentage by 5. You will also take 3k2 damage.
This event is primarily to encourage roleplaying, though the highest number of successful raises will also gain .5 Glory and the recognition of their daimyo for their heroism later. Please link your rolls in this thread. You don’t need the full post here.

Throughout the morning a shining princess fought furiously. Light from her blade dispelled the darkness as she rushed from enemy to enemy… Saving as many as she was able to without tiring.
Her shining visage stood bravely against the endless waves of darkness.

Shang did her darndest to conjure something imaginative in her thoughts, especially as a teller of tales and fables! How hard could it be to conjure some of her own into reality? As it seems, it was quite hard! However, that was only one part of the work and actions did speak louder than words! Or rather, actions told bigger tales than words? Either way, she was out there with her old family bow and released some arrows to take down some effigies with ease. It wasn't her intention to do something overtly fancy. Embellishment to the tale was much like fixing something in post-production.
It was quaint that she shot arrows at her effigy earlier in her stay. If this was a tale, she would call that little moment foreshadowing!
No attempt on Lucid Dreaming
Day 7 - Mid Morning. Protect the Villagers, Kyujutsu/Reflex: Inheritance, 2 Raises Called | 8k5 ⇒ 37 (TN: 30) Success!
Day 7 - Late Morning. Protect the Villagers, Kyujutsu/Reflex: Inheritance, 2 Raises Called | 8k5 ⇒ 50 (TN: 30) Success!
Just realized that calling raises doesn't result in rescuing more villagers! Regardless, 2 passes and no villagers were harmed in the making of this post.
