The Day of Thunder

We've never had a problem with it, but I'll let the others know to keep an eye out when I get back, it said. Its nose bends upward as it sniffs the air. It does smell a little like Yume-do here. There's a smell on the wind, but it's not all over.

[Yuzuru Hoto-Hori]

"Strong enough to be disturbing all the humans sleep. The Filth always wants to invade Ningen-do and the humans sealed off it's portal a while back, so now it uses your Realm to force it's way back in."

The pipe twirling stopped suddenly.

"That demon hag and her demon raven said they would be back. Can we really rely on that fucking donkey to actually lead? Or is he going to just spout more circular questions and call it wisdom. Wouldn't last five minutes in my forest in Chikushudo."

[Canary]

That explains a lot, it said, beady eyes rolling. Demon hag? The green fire woman?

[Yuzuru Hoto-Hori]

He stared at the Baku.

"Yes. You've seen her?"

[Canary]

Yeah. She stays back on the Yume-Jigoku end, but we see her at the edge once in a while. Taunting the super tall lady.

[Yuzuru Hoto-Hori]

"She fucking would, wouldn't she? Too much to ask that she gets too close and gets smited I suppose?"

He shook his head.

"No that would make things too fucking easy."

[Canary]

Yeah, basically. You have the right of it, it agrees.

[Yuzuru Hoto-Hori]

"Can't one of you go give her a fucking push?"

He looked hopeful.

[Canary]

We're having enough trouble trying to eat enough of it to keep up, never mind deal with her.

[Yuzuru Hoto-Hori]

"Too much to eat?"

He blinked.

"Never thought I'd ever fucking hear a Dream Eater say that. Don't think there's much I can do to help, unless I can narrow down which one of these fuckers is the Demon Hag and aerate her skull a few times."

[Canary]

Which one... How is she here and there at the same time?

[Yuzuru Hoto-Hori]

"The fucking donkey is here, so is that thieving bastard crow. All the apparent heroes of the Empire are here. If she isn't here somewhere watching for a chance to fuck things up them I'm a mallard."

Ninetails logic at it's best.

I guess that makes sense, but I'm not sure how she's in Yume-do and here, it says. Well... I'm probably not thinking really straight anyway.

[Yuzuru Hoto-Hori]

"She might be skipping between the two or just possessing someone here when she feels like it. Not like the Hag has any fucking manners."

He completely ignored the fact that many of his cousins also liked possessing humans when they felt like it.

[Canary]

The Baku didn't. Don't your kind do that sometimes?

[Yuzuru Hoto-Hori]

He blinked.

"Well yes . . . so some of us have no fucking manners either. At least all we do is play a prank or two . . . not like we try to doom an entire Realm to darkness or anything."

[Canary]

Yeah, it would've been weird if Chikushudo was Ningendo's destiny-assigned nemesis.

[Yuzuru Hoto-Hori]

"Not like humans are even tasty to eat. I'm guessing some of them will taste awful considering the crap they eat."

They were getting off topic and beginning to descend into "Why Ningen-do is awful" chit chat.

[Canary]

Their nightmares are amazing, though. Oh fortunes. There's nothing like a repeating guilt corridor, it said.

It was apparently not interested in getting back on track.

[Yuzuru Hoto-Hori]

"Guilt corridor? Well at least that one isn't that old fucker Sora. Probably the Crane. Still feeling it for that Demon Hag - Demon Raven double whammy they allowed five years ago. Still at least they're doing their best to clean their fucking house. Pity it was too late for Doji."

He actually looked genuinely sad at that.
