Yukara had done all she could to update her weapon to her new circumstances - at least all she could do on short notice.

With Yume-Kiri held tight by her side, she began a series of kata, flowing from position to position, her legs and core controlling her movement and the orientation of her guard, the arm only making minute adjustments.

It was slow at first, and clumsy, but slow began to pick up pace as she found her balance. It was not what it once was, but it was something new... something different and stubborn. If her kata before was a whirlwind, striking as the wind, now it was a rock in the ocean, splitting the waves. Steady, stalwart, and uncompromising.

As she continued, she began to think that maybe, maybe... she might be able to make something of this.

Keeping watch around the forest Kai saw the girl but decided not to interrupt. He did the rounds keeping an eye out for any strange activities.
