The Way Out [D7, EE, Event; Non-Thunders]

The fog is starting to thin at the edges of the forest. Those anywhere near have reported hearing muted sounds beyond. Maybe if you can find where the sounds are strongest, you can figure out where to get out of this village finally!
Can You Hear What I Hear?: Following the sounds is tricky, and the forest is deceptive, whispering in your ear about how you’ll fail. First, you’ll need to ignore the nonsense Yume-Jigoku is spouting. Roll Raw Willpower TN 15 to ignore the forest’s whispers. Success will allow you to continue in this event.
Is That Fighting?: You think you can hear something now, closer and clearer. To find the thinnest area where it will open soonest, you’ll have to figure out where you can hear what sound like noises of battle the best. Roll Investigation (Notice)/Perception, TN 20. Success allows you to continue in this event.
Finding Your Way: The forest is confusing even if it weren’t deliberately obscuring your sense of direction. It’ll be a challenge to find a way through that everyone can take. Roll Hunting (Trailblazing)/Perception, TN 20. Success allows you to find the weak point in the fog. You can't pass through yet, but you have a direction now.

(Well, ain't today just grand)
The first time he had visited this forest there had been only the sound of leaves. It seems that today was another story and the confounding racket through him off the trail.

by Otomo Akutou
"Get off my decks, boy."
Akutou's head snaps to the left, looking for who said that.
"Ew. You stink! Go away!"
His head snaps right.
"There's nothin' f'r you here. Git!"
He looks behind him.
"Looks like you won't even be an adequate meat shield this time. A shame."
Akutou spins about.
"I had such hopes for you."
"Why would anybody ever think you'd be worth anything?"
"No wonder your family turned you out."
Akutou claps his hands to his ears and bellows "
SHUT TH' FUCK UP, ALL Y'ALL!"
Falling to his knees, he whimpers "
Just...just..."

by Makime
The whispers filled the air and try as she might, Makime proved unable to push them from her mind. The distraction proved more then she could manage and ultimately the Lion General winds up back in the village. She had to trust the skills of the others to find the route.
Makime would just be ready to exploit it once the way was found. Time to go get the rabble in order and ready to escape...

by Shiba Kumori
The time had come… Just as the Champion had said. The Thunders had already begun their fight. Others had fought the Harbinger…
Han-Hei would have raged against this outcome… To not have stood in the heat of battle against the hardest foes.
Kumori only sought to save her people. And now… they all needed a way out.
The whispers of the woods tried to turn her back, but a different voice seemed to be pulling her through the mist.
Kumori…
She could hear it… not audibly, but somewhere deep within her. She pressed forward towards it… and heard… a battle!
Kumori…
The voice was louder. It seemed to ring with clarity deep within her even as the dream world tried to turn her around in her course.
She closed her eyes… she could control the dreamworld… exert her will over its illusions. If this was a trick she would see through it.
“Kumori!”
The voice was loud but muffled and she turned her head to see it…
“Tae?”
She looked through the mist and saw on the other side of a barrier a ferocious fight ensuing. A warrior and her company with their backs to the border that divided the village from the outside world contested violently with a horde of foes.
Kumori heard the warrior leading the detachment’s war cry as she fought a monster thrice her size.
“Kumori!”
Tears rushed to Kumori’s eyes as she saw her sister fighting with such intensity for her.
She walked as close as she could and yelled.
“Tae! We’re coming! Hold on!”

by Saru Shang
Shang managed to muster some strength to ignore those whispering voices that haunted her since her first visit here. However, it seemed that keeping her head down and not paying attention to anything did so much for her. She was inadvertently whipped by some branches and that sent her circling back to where she began. How troublesome!

by Yumi
Yumi had spent much of her time in these woods, it's whispers would do nothing to her. However, the din of battle.on the other side worried her greatly. Enough so that it was never clear enough to her to determine where it was weakest. Though she certainly helped find a lot of places where it simply wasn't weakest. Still, she would return empty handed for her report.

Tadaka looked for the way out, but he got distracted by the cries of the villagers. He went to help, but there was nothing there. Eventually, he realzied he had been tricked and had a hard time finding his way back to the village.

by Isawa Kyosei
Kyosei knew it was time to prepare to go. But, while others could grab their bags and run, he had a pony and wagon he was responsible for. While he could abandon them if needed, he would prefer not to. Plus, there was now room to carry the wounded, if need be.
Especially if that pony seemed like it was needing special help to get around. Help he would have to take the time to stop, calm the pony, then climb back on the wagon seat to start up again. And getting lost as he went....
~I don't think this is the right way, Wilbur.~
Kyosei had to get down again, and help the pony that had balked at what seemed a decent path. Then, back to the wagon seat.
~Nope, wrong way again, Wilbur.~
And, again, he climbed down and settled the fractious pony.

by Reiko Ohta
Ohta's senses were sharp, her will strong after the battle. ...but her mind was still a bit fried. She could tell what was around her, but it was like the fog kept shifting.
She'd have to rely on others to find a path.
