The Day of Thunder

Kai was running in the dark of not yet dawn, one hand on the grip of her sword. The mysterious river was on her left, the as mysterious forest on her right. Before her, the barely distinct figure of a tall monkey like creature, dashing on all fours, tail swinging in the wind.

And then nothing. No more monkey. Just Kai alone by the body of water. And silence.
