He didn't so much move as he folded the space between them seeming to teleport. His inky black staff whirled through the air cuffing the thunders before him with the end of it, a warning shot perhaps?

Ai was undeterred as she resisted the pull of Jigoku and leapt pass the Dream Champion towards the closest Effigy on the left and deftly slashed twice at the thing with two accurate cuts with her Jade katana.

Whatever these things were, they were no good.

[Hiruma Naraku]

Naraku braced himself at the onslaught from the enemy, his heart and soul remaining steadfast under the assault of Yume-Jigoku.

Had Naraku already been here? Why did it feel so familiar? It was the first time he had fought the Champion of Jigoku, was it not?

He closed his eyes, the dream of the other day resonnatoing with his core. He felt like he was in the city again only this time he was facing against a giant dark serpentine being. Was he fighting or was he watching?

He reached his arms to the sky, reaching once again to that warm feeling.

Akasha

When his eyes open, his green irises have a slit like pupil and golden scales dot his arms. His dream or the dream of Kanna or the dream that has been dreamt for thousands of years.

He looks at the Champion of Jigoku, cold ophidian eyes analysing the bird-thing in front of him.

"Abomination. Does defeat beckon you once more?"

Naraku did not know what he said, the words spoken with a mix of slithers and hisses. He did not know yet he knew.

[Otaku]

Otaku blocks the Champion's staff with an armored forearm, but the uncannily whipping thing knocks her bracer against her helmet hard enough to raise a bruise on her forehead. Whatever they're facing, it's clearly not going to be at all like fighting the unarmed, mortal monk who'd once owned this body.

"Hai!" Not giving herself (or her mount) time to dwell on the unearthly details, she cries Tsubame into a charge, riding down one of the further shadowy effigies. Her sword flashes twice as she swoops past the thing, then thunders (ha) away again, hoping to either rattle the creatures or scatter them apart from one another. It might have worked on human opponents, or natural beasts, but who knows what these things are?

As the wave of Temptation bursts force the ever-present scent of fresh ground around the Lion strengthens, the spirits of earth once again coming to his defense, and Kenji walks through it almost like it was never there. It wasn't far to the effigies that were strengthening the Champion of Jigoku and it was those they likely had to deal with first.

His first strike was swift and true, a devastating cut to any mortal, but perhaps not a creature of darkness, it was his hope though that the second would down the beast, or at the very least it's brethren if the first blow felled the beast.

Nao saw her fears surround her. They weighed her down and made her feel useless. She felt could do nothing. But, she had to try, even if it might cost her everything.

She managed to make her way to Ai, cutting herself as she ran. She smeard her blood on her cousin's armor abd it immediately began to boil. It's heat spread across the armor quickly and it began to glow like the sun.

Matsu is a woman of focus, determination, and sheer fucking will. Bracing herself with her Bisento, her armor taking some of the blow.

"Round two, motherfucker." She glared at Shinsei, as the blessing of Chuchu surged through her. Her eyes flashed viridian, as her body became of Jade. She was angry. They weren't going to like her while she's angry.

"Hyaaaaaaaaaaah!" She roared, as the strength of her Honor surged through all, imbueing her allies with strength.

Simple Action - Activate ChuChu's Blessing (Increase reduction for two rounds by Earth Ring + Insight Rank (+5), any tainted creatures that hit her take 3k3 damage.

Simple Action - Honor Flows Through All - Spend a VP, beginning in the Reactions stage, all allies, including herself, within 30' of Matsu add +2k0 to all Damage rolls. This lasts for Water Ring (3) rounds (rounds 2, 3, and 4).

[Nozomi]

Though she could not be involved in the fight herself, Nozomi stood back and watched as the Thunders fought and attempted to remove the chaff that would threaten them through the fight, so that they could focus on what was left of the man who had been her husband. She folded her arms into the sleeves of her hanfu and remained back, a grimace on her face. There was no joy in what happened today, but she was witness, and she would witness every movement with as much clarity as she could muster.

That was not her husband anymore. Just an abomination that wore his skin.

(OOC: Nozomi is not involved in the fight, but seemed fitting as round 1 ends to have her watching the blow by blow.)

[Wu Zhe]

The spearman shifted his stance to take part of the impact on his armor's shoulder plate when he was hit by the visions of fear or promises. He was left undaunted by such unholy temptation, knowing the price it would take and already took on so much people.

Emboldened by Matsu's battlecry, Zhe dashed forward to use his spear's superior range to support Ai's assault on the effigy before her, trusting her instincts.

the other Thunders prepare and support as The Dream goes on the attack once more. His jet black staff lashing out at the Thunders looking to upend them the powerful strikes smacking into knees and thighs attempting to lay low his opponents.

The effigies move up to assault the thunders as well but they seem to have less luck.

[Otaku]

Otaku sees a flurry of shadowy motion that sends three of her compatriots tumbling, but she can also see that in the melee at least one of the grotesque effigies seems to have collapsed under Ai and Kenji's blows.

She knees Tsubame back toward the knot of bodies for another slashing sortie on the effigy she wounded once already. "Down, you!" Darting free again, horse and rider continue to circle the fight, watching for their next opening.
