Thank fuck!
Sora got PTSD flashbacks for a moment there, being surrounded by a bunch of older daimyo women talking business!
I mean, Otaku and Matsu are actually younger than he is by about one generation gap, but...

I'm more amused by the fact that some clans have Daimyo here, and others emphatically do not.

I'm sorry, but Togashi, Saruko, and Mirumoto are kind of superbusy at the moment. Don't worry, Satsuki is here though! :D

Fixed that for you.

It looks like the Daimyo are off doing their own thing EM. So at least for D3, I don’t think I’ll go out of my way to draw their attention.

Don't you people decide who's in charge by whoever can unsheathe the magical sword?

As for phantom thread, LM? A meeting just before lunch, so it doesn't go too much into overtime thanks to people being more hungry than contrary.

Not everyone needs to be there (i.e. not use that slot for something else), we can assume people not attending have told people attending what they wanted to say.

Meeting turns out to be between two persons, each also acting as a proxy for ten other persons

Due to the daimyo thread and a subsequent Lion interview, Late Morning is my personal assumption- for whoever shows up for it.

While the daimyo have had their meeting, the clans without any daimyo present (Scorpion, Dragon, Crane, Bat) and the monks have as yet had zero input, and technically, nobody except the Crab, Lion, Ki-Rin, and Spider have agreed to the command structure as such (although since it broadly matches the Imperial suggestion, any alternate command proposal for the defense scheme is going to face some serious headwinds), someone from the Gang of Four should probably at least send a flunky

Particularly and especially since Makime never pretended to be much good at spiritual matters.

Penciling in LM, then. For what my presence there is worth.

It's not meant to be a real IC thread, amigo... It's just a temporal placeholder for "and here's where everyone gets the basic plan lined out."

IMO the daimyo thread is mostly sorting out IC, in the privacy of the status bubble, who we're personally going to defer to about certain things. Not a conversation you want to have in front of everybody where you have a greater obligation to publicly defend your clan's prerogatives. Once that's resolved, the circle of discussion can open out further. I don't think any of us four are interested in RPing out MAKING ALL THE PLANS there because that's, well, extremely tedious, but also doesn't need to be resolved as privately.

The following message will be given to the daimyo-council and Sora during the morning of Day 3. A summary of various discoveries the shugenja and others have made.

(OOC: I compiled them more in OOC-format to convey information as easy as possible for players)
  • Blue Lotus Village was built up about five years ago, after being previously occupied by heterodox Isawa. The village utilises a purification ritual left behind by these Isawa. This story has not been verified by any experts on the subject matter.
  • Blue Lotus Village is, as far as we know and the kami know, in Ningen-do still (this rules out that we are in fact within the domain of Yume-Jigoku).
  • The village is surrounded by a mist that will mislead anyone trying to pass through it. This seems to go both ways, as it is mostly preventing the enemy from coming through it.
  • The village appears to be cut-off from other realms as well, with the exception of Yume-do/Y-J. Attempts to open portals to other realms or project one's spirit into another realm has failed (with the noted exception of Yume-do/Y-J). We don't know yet if this applies both ways, allowing spirits from other realms to come in to the village that way.
  • Something is also keeping the kami here, and seemingly subdued in a way, as multiple shugenja have accounted for the kami's unusual nature to rouse to a shugenja's call. The kami are also unable to leave the village - this means that magical means of communication to outside settlements and allies have been cut off.
  • We don't yet know the source of the mist or its purpose.
  • When the kami were inquired about the inaccessible shrine and which Kami is enshrined there, their answer was "Many" and "None". This doesn't describe any potential benign Fortunes or spirits. It's a possibility that the place has become desecrated and whatever Fortune was worshipped has departed.
  • The earth kami say that corruption lurks outside.

Adding just one thing that was told to Anjing previous to the LM meeting
  • There seems to be naturally occurring dreamstone in the village. Those that performed admirably during the purification ritual were gifted with a stone of natural dreamstone.

  • River water dissolved powdered Dreamstone, giving it a iridescent green sheen. Reo has yet to detect the effect this has for sure, but it does not undo the inherent taint in Dreamstone.

The Daimyo council will take the matter into discussion.

But Makime definitely does not trust the villagers enough to tell them anything that doesn't directly involve them.

Sora will point out that any plan that doesn't factor them in is incomplete at best, and any plan that does directly involves them by definition.

Starting D4 it should be open knowledge that Shiba’s daughter is here.

I don’t have any aspirations on taking over ‘command’ (as it were) from the boss ladies though.

Sora has her support in helping facilitate things between the village and the boss ladies.
