The day had been interesting. Makime had expected to not like what the monk would say...and was right. When she first tried to lay down, her mind was filled with visions of her children fighting a desperate last stand. Every tactic and strategy worked, brilliantly, but it didn't matter. For every ploy that destroyed 100 monsters...1000 rose up in there stead. Every successful counterattack only pushed back again when a new wave of the enemy arrived. The army she trained lead by the best minds she could find against a horde that had no tactics, no strategy, just endless numbers. Gradually her forces were worn down...until.

Makime sat up, "..."
