The Day of Thunder

While Shang managed to dodge the sleep complications of the previous evening, she found something some growing unease with her sleep. She was tired and drifted off to the dreamlands easily enough, as should be expected when one sleeps.

Her dreams were inconsequential enough at first as if she had been living her day and going about her fictional routine with occurrences that would be considered strange in the waking world but overlooked enough in the realm of dreams. Her fussing with the new currency of the Empire had seemed to reach the Emperor's ear and he had decided to exchange all coin for cats! However, not everyone could carry that many cats at once and had to haul massive wagons of cats with them wherever they went. Shiro keeps her company while she goes about her day, her talking dog companion who was also the reincarnation of Fung, a poetic monk from the bygone days...

Then the dream went to a haul and she found herself suddenly on edge as something seemed to fill the foreground. It wasn't anything but seemed to put the whole whimsical dream to a fault. She found herself sinking into a void...

She shrugged herself awake in a cold sweat. It was enough to give her pause to her night but she was too tired to even concern herself as she returned right back to sleep.
