The more time went on in this village, the more precautions Ohta took before sleeping. Tonight, she put little charms around the outside of her tent, did some meditation, and cooked herself some simple porridge to settle her stomach. She sat and ate it slowly, the warmth spreading through her body.

Your eyes snap open to see a twisted being in front of you, needles for its fingers. It gasps and disappears.

Ohta blinked, looked down at her porridge, and set it down with a sigh. Now she didn't want to finish it.

Rubbing her eyes, she set about putting down more wards. Maybe they didn't work, but she needed some peace of mind regardless right now.
