I should be asleep! (D3 EN Sleep Paralysis)

Sleep Paralysis.
Kyosei had not had a good week. Not one, not two, but three wheels breaking on his wagon as he traveled over the past few days was a bit too many. Like any good traveler, he carried an entire spare wheel, and because of his extensive travels, he even carried two. Sadly, however, he had gotten three breaks. So, he had needed to repair one with only the materials on hand. And while that included the wood around him, it wasn't treated wood, already shaped and hardened. It was just random wood. He had finally made it here, the next village on his path, in the afternoon, only to find himself fighting the sharp cold snap, and the village to be over-filled.
Thankfully, again due to his extensive travels, he had his own tent. Sadly, right now he was having trouble sleeping. Or was he?
He felt like he was awake. But, somehow, he couldn't move. Which, with that shadow, was a problem...
... but not for a mind like his. He was not still in the chilly cavern from all those years ago. He was in a tent. A not particularly warm one, but just a tent.
