The Day of Thunder

The fire flared as she passed through, but the dream fire didn't seem to hate her near as much as the Fire kami did.

"Don't move a muscle!" The Harbinger shouted, reaching for Kumori at the same time that the young version of Chouri did, manifesting a chain trying to wrap around her, also made of fire.

Contested Willpower to try and stop Kumori. | 3k3 ⇒ 12

[Shiba Kumori]

The chain encircles Kumori causing her to stop in her tracks for a second. She crosses her arms, and with a burst of internal fortitude, extends them outwards emphatically bursting through the flames.

"FUCK OFF AND GO BACK TO HELL!"

She covers the distance between her and Chouri and reaches for the woman's hand.

[Ryoshun Nao]

Nao rushed forward reached for both Kumori and Chouri.

[The Harbinger]

"SHIBA-SAMA!" She yelled. Her face grew determined as she heard her yell and she burst out from behind the Harbinger, grabbing onto Kumori's arm.

The Harbinger screamed in rage... then dropped the fire and started laughing. "That's all right. She's just a doll. There are contingencies... and they will be so much worse than if you just left it alone."

[Shiba Kumori]

Grabbing tight to Chouri's hand she turned towards the Harbinger one last time.

"Well then... You're welcome, bitch. Bring it on... We'll be ready."

She then extended her hand out to Nao to escort them out of Yume-do.

[Ryoshun Nao]

Nao grasped onto both of the other women and concentrated on leaving. Her focus was not on ningendo, however. She thought of her father and meido.

[Wu Dai Lu]

The scene shifts, but Nao doesn't sense the change in realms. Despite that, the mists of Meido surround them, and she can see a distant silhouetted figure of a man in a conical hat, holding a spear and looking out into the distant - Ryoshun.

They were in Yume-do, but this was a dream of Meido by someone who knew it. Who?

Chouri, now looking like her adult self, looks around. "This is... where are we?"

[Shiba Kumori]

Kumori also looks around unsure of her location.

She sees the man standing in the mist... and looks to Nao...

[Ryoshun Nao]

"I had hoped to take us somewhere she might not be able to reach." Nao sighed. "But, this is still Yume Do, even if this is a good imitation."

"I'm sorry, Chouri-san. Unless she releases you, I don't think we can set you free."

[Wu Dai Lu]

She shook her head. "The weight... it's already lifted. I've already worked against her, so it's hard to say how long her hold would have lasted anyway."

[Shiba Kumori]

“Worked against her?” Kumori asked.

[Ryoshun Nao]

She took both of their hands again.

"If there's anything you want to tell us, I suggest you do it now, before we return."

[Wu Dai Lu]

She nodded. "I created a method for locking her and her 'beloved' away, as well as sealing this area away from Ningen-do, so the barrier between it and the Realm of Dreams solidifies. It's more complex than that, but that's the basic version. It takes a lot of will, so I planned to have everyone help if I could get free long enough to do it."

She closed her eyes tight. "... She was originally planning to put them into a dying dream. A mass sacrifice."

"Alright." she smiled. "We'll defeat them together."

She began to focus on returning them to their physical bodies.

[Shiba Kumori]

She nodded. "I created a method for locking her and her 'beloved' away, as well as sealing this area away from Ningen-do, so the barrier between it and the Realm of Dreams solidifies. “Thank you for fighting Chouri…” Kumori said with sincerity.

“We’ll make sure it doesn’t go to waste.”

[Wu Dai Lu]

She bowed her head. "Thank you. And... whatever needs to be done because of what's happened so far, I'll accept it."

[Shiba Kumori]

Kumori nodded affirmatively.

“We’ll discuss that later.”

She then looked to Nao.

“Unless that’s your real father over there… Probably time to get back.”

[Ryoshun Nao]

Nao nodded. She had already been trying. It was a bit more complicated, bringing a dreamer back to the waking world.
