To my knowledge the mechanics of the Taint still aren't fully figured out at this point? Or at least not widely known?

The in-character process of testing with Jade started in Heavenfall due to tainted impostors (bog hags, etc) not due to people getting tainted.

I know at least a handful of folks, including some daimyo, are rocking fractional levels of taint from that game - likely unknowingly.

Yeah, some people stepped away from Dawn 2 with Taint I know. I can't remember all of them so I'd have to go look.

But doesn't Lore: Corruption kind of cover the current understanding of Taint in the setting right now?

In this setting, Ayumu carried the Taint he picked up fighting in the Shadowlands for fifteen years, went to Winter Court, and made it out none the worse for wear.

I think we don't know enough to even think to worry before it's at a detectable level... and we have yet to have a PC cross that threshold without, you know, bursting into flame and hatching out the Harbinger....

IIRC, Ayumu was apex tranquil buddha who would have managed to sleep peacefully in the heart of hell. There were actually jokes in that regard in Dawn 2 way before the corrupted dreams plot begins. Very much a statistical outlier as far as corruption progression goes.

Do we have a more hotheaded character who got some taint at the same moment for comparison?
