Can we buy/raise the skill Lore:Corruption without special fuss, since it's not Forbidden Knowledge here? Given all the usual "as long as it makes sense IC" that usually applies to XP spends, obviously.

I've run into a dead end. I just can't figure out how the anchors need to be put together from how little information is left. Less time alone now, too. I wish I knew a shugenja.

The Festival ended today. Exactly one year. I think she knows, so... this is probably it.

I think dying is like a lot of things - it's better if you don't know, so the anticipation can't eat away at you. It also gives you a deadline, though.

I can't use this place anymore. She came back when I was heading out of the woods, and asked what I'd been doing while she was away. I told her I was gathering dreamstone for the festival. I think she believed me.

Are the dates intentional in relation to our timeline from the Almanac where we just started Year 30? Considering that the Rokugani calendar start at the beginning of the spring (Hare).

Year 30

• After the winter snows dissipate and the roads clear, the clans begin sending emissaries again throughout the empire. All seek support and few have any to give.
• Along the roads, headed north… a collection of travelers journey towards fate. Their timing and reasons differ. Some are led by need or want, some by will, some by invitation, and some others by some sort of mystical call. Along this same road the prophet Shinsei travels. Their common destination… whether they are aware of it or not… is a small community on the borders of the new Crab lands… next to the suspicious “no-clan lands”. The local environs are putting together a festival of no particular import; simply trying to drive away the misfortune of the previous months. Why Shinsei has selected this place to travel in this hour… and why so many have come… will soon be revealed. Destiny has no secrets. The Day of Thunder happens here.

It's just a little confusing from an OOC point of view, so just wanted to clarify to see if was just a timestamp hiccup.

It is currently the month of the Tiger, which is at the very end of year 30. When it moves to the month of the Hare in a few days it will be year 31. Hare 1 would be the first of the year in the year you are currently in (30), so these entries were written during the year that will end in a few days.

Question raised by Tae-soo that I was also wondering about, as the *second* investigative party heads toward the Dreamstone cave:

(OOC: Ugh, shifty connection, had written that a while ago! Tae could do a quick check of the unseasonal flowers I guess. He'd also look for any sign of streams or anything of the kind as we get near the cave - have you folks seen I'd there's a connection to the river or anything of the kind in previous trips?)

Does the cavern visibly connect to any streams/surface bodies of water in the direction from which we're entering it?

Or do we have to search further to discover whether/where its underground reservoir connects to any of the water above ground?
