Re: D1LE-EN A closed realm
Seems like Monkey has decided to give her the silent treatment today. Not a dream in sight, not even the weirdest nightmare come out of the mind of an ape who has already obsessed with playing human before turning fully mad.
And humans really didn't need the extra madness. They already had that "doubt" thing when they were lying still to refresh their body a bit even though real sleep wasn't coming (humans had become very savant about the effects and treatments of sleep and lack of sleep in the latest years, for obvious reasons). When their mind wandered to imagine the worst for their future endeavors.
Which was stupid. Probably yet another part of the humans that wasn't fully finished when the gods created them too quickly, like half-baked pottery. Humans obviously needed to use their brain a lot to design strategies in advance to compensate for their limited physical abilities. But the feature had been made wrong and, in the absence of the light of the sun, it would only tell them all the ways they would die or worst, not give them any path to victory.
At first Kai had thought it to be the influence of the darkness. But no. Humans had always been like that. Scared of their own thoughts in the dark.
Tiger wouldn't even had thoughts at night when not sleeping. They would have just been in a state of not being until their nose caught the smell of a prey or enemy and they turned to be again.
Kai had to admit the Monkey's new strategy was more effective than the last. She could fight nightmares. She couldn't fight... Nothing? Her own new brain being badly designed?
Maybe the darkness was gaining upon them to. Maybe there was a sparkle of the old Monkey in these taunts, and now that the evil had taken root, they were not interested anymore in a game they could lose.
Well. We'll see about that.
Kai looked at the moon and the stars, high up, beyond the canopy of the tree she was nested in. Human was failing here. Tiger was of no help, they would just have boasted they could go on without sleep for all eternity. Remained Spider. A story had to be weaved into these sleepless hours, a story that would give her the strength she was otherwise refused.
True dreams she wouldn't have tonight. But she could still make a dream herself, for herself.
Once upon a time...
